We offer same-day sick appointments. Please call our office as early in the day as possible so we can schedule a same-day visit.
What Happens During a Sick Child Visit?
After check in, a medical staff will bring you and your child back to an exam room and you will be asked to provide information about your child's symptoms. This helps the healthcare team understand the nature of your child’s illness and any underlying conditions that may be relevant. You may be asked about the duration and severity of symptoms, any medications your child is taking, and their overall health.
The visit will typically start with your child's vital signs, including temperature, heart rate, and your child's weight. These measurements provide essential information about your child's health and can help identify any abnormalities.
You will ask detailed questions about your child's symptoms, including when they started, how they have progressed, and any other relevant information. Be sure to mention any recent exposures to illness, changes in behavior, or unusual symptoms. In some cases, additional tests, such as throat swabs, blood tests, or imaging, may be necessary to confirm or rule out a diagnosis.
